Candidate Forum

Friends and Neighbors,

Inspiration Hills HOA will be hosting a candidate forum for those running for the District 7 Council seat.  The seat held by Ms. Ana Sandoval for 5 ½ years until she resigned is currently being occupied by Ms. Rosie Castro. A new councilperson will be elected in May.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet the candidates, hear their views on important issues, and ask them questions.

IHHA had a very good relationship with Ms. Sandoval.

She saw how passionate we were about issues that were of importance to our community at the numerous meetings she and her staff attended.

It is imperative that all the candidates leave this meeting with the same understanding and feeling about the group of individuals that make up the fabric of our neighborhood as well.

Candidate Forum:  Saturday, April 8th

Time:  10a – 12p

Location:  IHHA Park

Early Voting:

Monday, April 24th – Tuesday, May 2nd

General Election:

Saturday, May 6th

Last Day to Register to Vote:

Thursday, April 6th

Look forward to seeing everyone on April 8th at the park.

IHHA Vice President

EXCUSE OUR DUST!!!!!!

March 14, 2023

Friends and Neighbors,

Your IHHA Park is undergoing numerous improvements and additions.  Upgrades include a Pickle Ball Court, a corn-hole court and pavilion, adult exercise equipment, and a grill behind the large pavilion.  Also, the fencing that divided the park has been removed.

The beauty and curb appeal at the entrance to the park will be enhanced with a wrought iron fence in place of the old chain link fence.  The parking lot entrance will be upgraded by replacing the asphalt with concrete.

It will take the concrete ten days to dry and cure.  Accordingly, the parking lot will be closed to traffic until Monday, March 27th.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

We will host an open house to show off the improvements to “your park” once they are completed.  Details will be forthcoming.

Thanks for your understanding and support regarding this exciting news.  And many thanks to the IHHA Board of Directors for their vote of confidence and approval of these upgrades.

Jim Graham, Vice President

Joseph Torrez, Park Director

¡Disculpen nuestro polvo!

14 de marzo de 2023

Amigos y vecinos,

Jim Graham, Vicepresidente

Joseph Torrez, Director del Parque

Food Drive

Friends and Neighbors,

IHHA will be hosting a Food Drive for the Christmas Holidays.  This is something that we have done in the past and we thought it would be the perfect time to do it again.  It is inherent on all of us to be “thy brother’s keeper.”

Many individuals and their families suffer in silence due to the lack of food in their pantry and on their table.  A large number of children go to school hungry every day.  The percentages are high that you may actually know someone and are unaware that they or their family have food shortage issues.  Many food banks and supporting agencies are at record lows of food supplies.  Time for us to step up.

If anyone person or family would like to donate food, I will be at IHHA park on Saturday, December 17th from 9a to noon to take your donations.  If you prefer to give a monetary donation, please make check payable to The San Antonio Food Bank.  If you are unable to come to the park next Saturday, reach out to me and I will come by your home and pick up your donation off of your front porch.

Here is a list of suggestive items to donate:

PEANUT BUTTER

CEREAL

TUNA

SOUPS & CHILI

BEANS

RICE

POP TOP FOOD ITEMS

CANNED LUNCH MEAT

MAC & CHEESE

FULL MEALS CAN / BOX

BABY FOOD & DIAPERS

PET FOOD

Thanking you in advance for your compassion and support.

Hazardous Waste and Medicine Drop-Off at The IHHA Park

Friends and Neighbors,

There will be a Household Hazardous Waste and Medicine Drop-Off Saturday, November 5th at IHHA Park, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.  The items that can be turned in are outlined below.  It is so important to the environment that these items don’t wind up in the landfill or flushed down the toilet.

Please make sure that all paint can lids are on tight and that none of the items are leaking.  Please put these items in a box for easier transportation.

E-waste, such as computers, screens, printers and cords can be turned in as well.

Please empty all meds into a sealed zip lock baggie.  Items such as old vitamins and over-the-counter meds will be excepted.  Liquids, such as cough medicine can remain in the bottle.  This is your chance to get rid of expired or unused meds properly, without damage to the environment.

Please, no contractors.
